WALKTHROUGH

Complete guide to escaping the Abyss. Level-by-level tips and strategies.

THE DEPTHS (Level 1-3)

Starting Area - Learn the Basics

Level 1: Awakening

You wake up in a dark cell. The basics of movement are all you have. Focus on learning how to dash — this is your primary escape tool.

Tips:

  • • Start with short dashes to conserve energy
  • • Collect all energy orbs — they restore your reserves
  • • Watch for the pattern in guard patrols

Level 2: First Falls

Vertical platforming begins. You'll need to fall through platforms strategically while avoiding spike traps below.

Tips:

  • • Some platforms break after you stand on them
  • • Save energy for emergency dashes upward
  • • The third falling section has a hidden alcove with bonus energy

Level 3: The Guard Post

Your first real enemy encounter. Guards patrol fixed routes. Defeating them is optional but they drop energy on death.

Tips:

  • • Guards have a wind-up animation before attacking
  • • Running past is often safer than fighting
  • • Two hits from a guard will drain significant energy

FORGOTTEN TUNNELS (Level 4-6)

Mid-Game - New Mechanics Introduced

Level 4: Flooded Passages

Water sections slow your movement and increase energy drain. Dash becomes critical for crossing large gaps quickly.

Tips:

  • • Water drains energy slowly while standing in it
  • • Quick dash bursts minimize water exposure
  • • Air pockets allow you to recover breath and energy

Level 5: The Mining Shafts

Crumbling platforms and narrow passages. One wrong step means a long fall and heavy energy loss on respawn.

Tips:

  • • Check stability by throwing debris before crossing
  • • Save a full energy bar for the minecart escape sequence
  • • Mineral deposits can be collected for bonus energy

Level 6: Echo Chambers

Sound-based puzzles. Certain actions trigger traps or open paths. The echoes reveal hidden routes.

Tips:

  • • Light footsteps on metal grates avoid triggering sensors
  • • A well-timed dash creates an echo that reveals secret doors
  • • Avoid areas where your echo returns too quickly

THE ABYSSAL CORE (Level 7-9)

Late-Game - High Challenge

Level 7: The Prison Ward

Other prisoners wander as undead. They're aggressive but predictable. This area has high energy orb rewards for skilled players.

Tips:

  • • Undead have no energy themselves — they drain yours on contact
  • • Killing them yields 15% energy each
  • • The Warden at level's end drops 50% energy but is very dangerous

Level 8: Gravity Wells

Gravity reversal zones change your movement entirely. Up becomes down. Dash behaves differently in each zone.

Tips:

  • • Gravity shifts happen without warning — be prepared
  • • High energy = stronger gravity resistance
  • • Zero energy means you float helplessly in gravity wells

Level 9: The Heart

Mid-boss area. The Heart is a massive creature that fills most of the room. It's slow but its attacks cover the entire floor.

Tips:

  • • Stick to the walls and dash in arcs around it
  • • Attacks come in 3-hit cycles with safe windows between
  • • Victory yields the Gravity Anchor ability

SURFACE APPROACH (Level 10-12)

Final Stretch - Almost Free

Level 10: The Ascent

Mostly vertical platforming upward. Your first view of distant light. Platform stability becomes critical.

Tips:

  • • Light areas mean safer platforms
  • • Falling here costs massive energy — be careful
  • • Checkpoint midway — use it

Level 11: Light Tunnels

Sunlight filters through cracks. The atmosphere changes — hope returns. But the path is narrower than ever.

Tips:

  • • Light beams damage you if you stay in them too long
  • • Shadows are safe zones and often contain energy
  • • Near the end, a hidden path leads to a full energy restore

Level 12: The Gate

The exit is here but heavily guarded. The final test of everything you've learned.

Tips:

  • • Two guards patrol — use their patterns to slip past
  • • If fighting, use the environment to separate them
  • • The gate requires no key — just reach it

FINAL ESCAPE

Freedom Awaits

Beyond the gate is a long stairway upward. No enemies, no traps. Just climb. The light grows with each step.

Final Tips:

  • • Energy regeneration is active here — climb at your pace
  • • The ending triggers when you reach the top
  • • Your final energy level affects the ending cutscene
